จากภูมิปัญญาการเข็นมือดั้งเดิมนำไปสู่การทอมือที่มีลวดลายเป็นเอกลักษณ์เฉพาะตัว
วิถีชีวิตคนในชุมชนที่เชื่อมโยงกับภูมิปัญญาดั้งเดิมจากต้นฝ้ายถึงผ้าทอมือ ซึ่งฝ้ายเข็นมือและผ้าทอมือของชาวบ้านในชุมชน หากลองไล่ดูผ้าทอเป็นแถวๆจะเห็นถึงความหนา และความบางที่แตกต่างกัน ลวดลายของผ้าทอก็เช่นกัน ภาพผ้าทอมือของคุณยายอายุ 80 ปี ที่เจอกันในทริปจังหวัดเลยก็ทำให้ผุดขึ้นมาทันที
ฝ้ายเข็นมือนั้น เกิดจากความถนัดและความเชี่ยวชาญของเหล่าแม่ๆ โดยจะได้เส้นฝ้ายที่แตกต่างกัน เช่น ยายใจ อายุ 70 ปี ถนัดเข็นฝ้ายเส้นใหญ่ แต่เมื่อนำมาทอแล้วผ้าทอจะมีความแน่นกว่าทำให้มีความเป็นเอกลักษณ์พิเศษเฉพาะของผ้ายายใจก็จะถูกนำไปออกแบบและตัดเย็บให้เหมาะสมเพื่อดึงเสน่ห์ความเป็นผ้าทอออกมา
ด้วยทักษะและความถนัดของแต่ละคนที่ไม่เหมือนกันจึงทำให้เกิดเป็นผ้าที่มีลวดลายของผ้าทอมือที่ไม่ซ้ำกัน จึงทำให้เกิดเป็นผลิตภัณฑ์ใหม่ๆที่มีลวดลายและรูปแบบที่ต่างกันออกไป และนี่คือเรื่องราวของ “ชุมชนทอผ้า” @ จังหวัดเลย
เทคนิคการทอผ้าที่สืบต่อกันมาในวิถีชีวิตชนบทนั้นเป็นการทอมือ จึงใช้ระยะเวลานานในการผลิต ผ้าทอที่ได้นั้นต้องใช้ทักษะ ความชำนาญ และความใส่ใจ ผ้าทอจึงมีเรื่องราววิถีชีวิตผ่านงานทุกชิ้นส่งต่อไปยังผู้รับ
จากฝ้ายเข็นมือที่เกิดจากนำฝ้ายมาปั่นให้เป็นเส้น texture ของเนื้อผ้าจึงมีพิ้นผิวที่ไม่เรียบเสมอกัน อาจดูหนาและกระด้างบ้าง แต่เนื้อสัมผัสจะมีความนุ่มฟู ฝ้ายที่เข็นมือจะมีความห่างของเนื้อผ้ามากกว่าเส้นด้ายทั่วๆไป ทำให้ผ้าฝ้ายที่ทอมือออกมาสามารถระบายอากาศได้ดี

The cotton is hand-carried and the cloth is hand-woven by villagers in the community. If you look at the woven fabric in rows, you will see its thickness. and different thickness The pattern of the woven fabric is the same. The picture of the hand-woven cloth of an 80-year-old grandmother that I met on a trip to Loei Province immediately made me spring to mind
That hand-carried cotton It comes from the aptitude and expertise of the mothers. They will get different cotton strands. For example, Grandma Jai is 70 years old and is good at pushing large strands of cotton. But when woven, the woven fabric will be denser, making it unique and unique to Yai Jai fabric. It will be designed and sewn appropriately to bring out the charm of the woven fabric.
With the skills and aptitude of each person being different, it creates a cloth with a unique hand-woven pattern. Therefore resulting in new products with different patterns and styles. And this is the story of the “weaving community” @ Loei Province.
The weaving technique that has been passed down through generations in rural life is hand weaving. Therefore it takes a long time to produce. The resulting woven fabric requires skill, expertise, and care. The woven fabric has a story of a way of life through every piece of work that is passed on to the recipient.
From hand-spun cotton that is made from spinning cotton into strands, the texture of the fabric has an uneven surface. It may look thick and rough. But the texture will be soft and fluffy. Hand-plucked cotton has a greater fabric spacing than normal yarn. This makes the hand-woven cotton fabric breathable.
So why “hands”? This may be a question that arises in the minds of many people. Hand weaving is still understandable to many people, but! Why does it have to be the size of a hand cart? When it comes to hand weaving, the yarn spun from the factory can be naturally dyed and then woven. Hand pushing not only increases costs but also takes a long time. Is using your hands to do every step really good? Controlling against higher costs? You can answer that it is true that handmade work has a higher price, but Folkcharm gives more value than that. By making it by hand “from planting, picking, pushing, weaving, to designing and sewing”, it makes The beauty, the detail, the care in that piece. At this point, I understood for the first time that ‘fabric can talk’ and that fabric that is made by hand in every step makes a louder sound than other fabrics. It is a gentle introduction: Where do I come from? Who created me? And how are the people who created me feeling?
And until it becomes one piece of woven fabric, it’s not as easy as we see in the picture. And when we get to experience the real weaving community, you will feel that This community is not just a weaving community, but a community that creates smiles while weaving. That is why there is a connection between ‘producers’ and ‘consumers’ that even they have never seen before. But they got to know each other through handmade canvases.
